A-MNEMONIC crack America as Love Island crosses the pond.

Love Island has crossed the pond, and has been causing a storm…. quite literally.  The series premiered this week with 11 fresh-faced contestants entering the swanky new Love Island USA villa in Fiji, but on the first episode, it just wouldn’t stop raining!  Luckily, the rain didn’t stop the Islanders from getting up to their usual antics as the series has already delivered some serious drama in the few days it’s been on air, with one contestant going after another contestant’s man.

The show features the same popular theme music as the UK version, that was produced by Andrei Basirov and Toby Jarvis at A-MNEMONIC.  Last year the track was remixed by iLL BLU as part of the Ministry of Sound: The Pool Party album, reaching Number 1 in the UK Album charts.

ITV America’s chief executive officer David Eilenberg explained how the show will fare in comparison to the version we all know and love.

‘Of course, we’re going to conform to broadcast standards,’ David told The Hollywood Reporter. ‘We’re on at 8 o’clock on a major broadcaster. That said, even the way that the UK show has evolved, it has shifted more towards a mainstream general entertainment audience.’

David continued to the publication: ‘Probably the biggest difference of all is likely to be around language because we’ll have some bleeping obligations that the U.K. simply doesn’t. ‘I don’t think that’s going to make a huge difference in terms of the experience of it. ‘But for superfans of the show, that will probably be notable because the UK version doesn’t require censoring in the same way.’

He added: ‘There will certainly be differences. ‘Some of those differences won’t just have to do with the type of platform it’s on, but simply the cultural differences between American Islanders and U.K. Islanders. ‘We don’t know what those are yet until we actually put our Islanders into the villa but we’re very excited to find out.’

The show debuted on July 9th on CBS.
